KPI set new quarterly sales record

HAYWARD, Calif., April 10, 2000 - Kobe Precision, Inc. started the millennium in style, setting two monthly sales record in short succession. January closed with record sales that exceeded December's by 11 percent, but the new high mark was short-lived. In March, sales set another record growing by a further 61 percent, and marking the sales of Q1 2000 the strongest quarter in the history of KPI wafer division.

After two years of research and development KPI wafer division developed the Precision Reclaim Processä, a new and highly efficient method for reclaiming wafers. This innovative process removes unwanted material from the wafers while leaving intact most of valuable silicon, enabling customers to cut costs by recycling wafers over again.

The upside cycle in the semiconductor industry that started in 4Q 1999 greatly contributed to the company's growth, but the essential ingredients for success were KPI's commitment to quality and value, demonstrated in a reclaiming process that removes only minimal level of silicon, and the company's dedication to customer care. With planned expansion of production and the reputation that KPI has achieved in the industry, new records will be set in very near future.
