President’s Message

HAYWARD, Calif., January 30, 2000

Masayoshi Takebayashi, Founder and President of KPI:

We have started the millennium with two major events: an explosive growth of our silicon wafer operation and a consolidation of aluminum substrates production with our sister company Kobe Precision Technology in Malaysia.

On November 9,1998 we held a celebration event to commemorate the ten year anniversary of Kobe Precision and the Grand Opening of our new Wafer Reclaim Facility. At that time we did not expect to reach the full capacity level of our Wafer Reclaim Fab in just about a year. Upside cycle in the semiconductor industry certainly contributed to our growth, so did our patented silicon wafer reclaim process by which we are providing our customers with unparalleled quality and values by removing only minimal level of silicon. Superior customer service has also played a significant role in this rapid growth by satisfying needs of our customers and by bringing in new businesses.
