Why small businesses need SaaS?

New and growing firms face many battles – developing their offer, getting the right people on board, getting known, establishing an office and getting access to the systems that will help them to run their business. It all costs money and time. Unless you are an IT company then running an IT system is a distraction as well as a cost.

One simple way to get rid of both these is to get someone else to do it. Outsource the whole thing to a cloud provider.

Why?

  • Cost (subscription comes out of operating budget funded out of revenues whereas purchase is capital which is usually in short supply)
  • Responsibility(staff to install and maintain and upgrade and manage supplier relationships - both hardware and software)
  • Hardware – no specialist equipment needed. As web browser is all you need, you’ve probably got that on the devices you own already = pc and ipad and phone for emails etc
  • Availability – any time anywhere; on the move and sharing updating so got access to latest information
  • Green – less energy used (lower bills for you) and helping cut down pollution
  • Acceptability – already use cloud services – email is just one example
  • Software up to date
  • Security of access and information
